When this happens, since they are unable to directly confront the cause of their anxiety, they will redirect the resulting aggression toward the cat, dog, or human right by them. The cat becomes agitated, and feels unsafe. It can also be caused by a smell, a noise, a different animal, etc. Most of the time, this is caused by another cat that is outside. ![]() Redirected aggression happens when a cat is stimulated by something that causes their anxiety level to spike.
