So the workflow between Affinity Designer -> Spine -> Unity looks great but it's expensive. ![]() Spine is $300 but Affinity Designer can export assets in JSON format that can be used in Spine and it also has a runtime for Unity officially supported by them, they also support officially 14 or more runtimes for different engines, and other generic runtimes. Software like Dragonbones is free and supports deformation, it also has a runtime for Unity (instead of a converter). I'm also a little concerned about third party tools being the only way for Spriter to be converted to Unity instead of being a officially supported feature. I just see it won't support deformations until Spriter 2 is out (it could take years and the upgrade will be free). It seems to be easy to use and has frequent updates. Compare price, features, and reviews of the software side-by-side to make the best choice.
